New Office in Bristol

We are delighted to announce that due to an increase in workload in the Bristol and Central Regions we have opened a Regional Office in Bristol. This will provide a base for our surveyors and meeting facilities when required.

Our new address is Allium Environmental Ltd, New World Business Centre, Station Road, Bristol, BS30 8XG.

With modern office suites and dedicated meeting rooms we look forward to hosting client meetings and seminars in a welcoming purpose built facility.

Meet the Team member – Darren Ross

Our latest recruit to the Head Office booking team is Darren Ross.

In order to support Charley York and Victoria Richards with their busy workloads booking in our Surveying projects we have added Darren to the team. Darren’s experience gained from a background booking in reactive maintenance projects on a busy MOD contract will enhance the booking function at Allium.

As we continue to grow this team becomes ever more stretched so Darren is a very welcome addition to the business.

Darren, who originally hails from Bristol now lives with his family outside Redruth and enjoys mountain biking and life in the countryside.

Darren commented:

I am delighted to have been offered this position with Allium and although there is a lot to remember I am quickly learning the ropes. Using Alpha Tracker as the main tool to assist booking allows us to quickly review projects and the required resources.

Everyone is being very supportive and it is great being part of such a friendly business. I’m definitely looking forward to the continued challenges ahead as the business continues to grow.

Head Office Re-location

In order to better support our regional operations and to facilitate the continued growth of the business Allium Environmental Ltd are pleased to announce the relocation of our Head Office to Baldhu House, Wheal Jane Earth Science Park, Baldhu, Truro, TR3 6EH

Incorporating offices, meeting rooms and a training suite, Baldhu House a modern, energy efficient building situated on the Science Park will allow us to increase our Head Office compliment in an environmentally friendly facility which fits the ethos of our business, surrounded by other technical consultants and blessed with wonderful country views.

The light and airy office spaces provide an enhanced working environment for our staff and the opportunity to host client meetings and seminars in a purpose built facility.

Meet the Team member – Sarah Menhenitt

Sarah Menhenitt has been with Allium right from the launch of the business; utilising her keen eye for detail, fantastic customer service skills and tireless work ethic she has been pivotal in the success of our social housing surveying division.

Social housing surveying is fast paced requiring the maintenance of strict key performance indicators to satisfy landlords, whilst always remembering that you are dealing with lay persons and surveying in their homes. A flexible approach to booking in projects around the working lives of the occupying tenants is the key to success and the ability to quickly turn around surveys in void properties ensures that homes are not left empty for extended periods.

Sarah is also studying for her AAT Level 3 qualifications at present and as part of her career progression within the business she is taking a more arm’s length role overseeing the social housing surveying operation and moving to join Nicki Hawkins in the Accounts team.

When asked about Allium, Sarah says:

I have thoroughly enjoyed running some of the business’ Key accounts over the past two and a half years but have always wanted to work in accounts. The Directors and Managers at Allium have been very supportive in my career progression, they recognised my commitment to the business and were impressed that I was studying for my accounting exams off my own back. Allium is a great place to work and they try to promote staff from within wherever possible which really gives you something to work towards.

Meet the Team member – Charley York

Meet the Team member – Charley York

This month we would like to introduce Charley York; Charley joined us in March and heads up our booking team. Charley co-ordinates enquiries and issues our quotations, once accepted her team then allocates a suitable surveyor and schedules your survey in our Tracker system.

Charley previously worked for a competitor in the Midlands and fully understands the challenges and rewards of providing a reactive service to all our customers. She will cheerfully look after your project from enquiry to booking when it’s handed over to the surveying teams.

Charley says:

Having previously lived in the Midlands, the move to Allium’s Head Office in the Westcountry has been an amazing adventure. My experience in the Industry has enabled me to quickly fit into the team and I hope I have brought some new ideas and improvements to the already slick booking process.

From taking enquiries, to liaising with the estimators and allocating survey slots in a very busy diary there is always plenty to do here and I really enjoy the buzz of the office.

Living in this part of the country is fantastic; I’m making sure to spend as much free time as possible walking my dog on the beaches and taking in the fabulous scenery.
