Marine Asbestos Surveys

Our dedicated marine asbestos survey team have many years of experience and are able to work on-board vessels in confined areas, in port or at sea, as well as working within the shore-based buildings and support facilities.

We work closely with all health and safety stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive asbestos survey tailored to the marine industry is carried-out and that a comprehensive asbestos management plan has been written and is readily available. This meets all government H&S compliance requirements.

Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM)

The Hong Kong International Convention for the safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships 2009 (The Hong Kong Convention) was adopted at a conference in Hong Kong, China. The conference took place from 11th to 15th May 2009. The aim was to ensure that when ships are being recycled after their useful working lives they do not pose risks to the environment and human health. The IHM (Inventory of Hazardous Materials) RESOLUTION MEPC.197(62) adopted on 15th July 2011 is aimed at listing specific hazardous materials through the Ship.

At Allium, we offer a full  marine specific asbestos sampling, testing and reporting package to enhance your IHM.

Asbestos can be found in many areas within the marine industry; both on-board the ship as well as service buildings
