- Purpose: To establish fibre levels produced from associated works including perimeter monitoring during soil remediation and demolition works.
- Process: Regular air monitoring is carried out to ensure the remedial methods used by contractors are safe and assess the potential spread of asbestos from the work area.
1.3. Personal Monitoring
- Purpose: To establish exposure levels to staff during works.
- Process: Small mobile testing pumps are worn by staff while carrying out asbestos works or entering potentially contaminated areas.
1.4. Four Stage Clearance
- Purpose: To verify that an area is safe for reoccupation after licensed asbestos removal or remediation work.
- Process: A preliminary check of licensed works areas to establish areas of concern, followed by a thorough visual inspection to ensure no debris or residue is remaining within the enclosure. Disturbance air testing of the enclosure to ensure fibre levels are at a safe level and full visual inspection of all works areas once the enclosure has been removed.

- Purpose: To assess fibre levels following non licensed works or emergency air testing following a disturbance of asbestos containing materials.
- Process: Air monitoring carried out to assess potential increase in fibre levels.
