Asbestos-related disease is the biggest single occupational killer in the UK today, largely due to the uncontrolled exposures experienced by workers in the 1950s, 60s and 70s, even into the 1980s.
It is our belief that action should be taken to prevent asbestos exposure, which is why we wanted to join like-minded thinkers, BOHS. In particular, BOHS believes that resources should be made available to enforcement agencies to ensure that the current asbestos management regime is implemented in an effective manner, which should lead to the eradication of asbestos in our built environment.
We are looking forward to sharing ideas and gleaning new information from BOHS and its members over the coming years.
