Cornwall Rural Housing Association is a leading provider of good quality affordable housing in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Founded in 1985, CRHA’s aim is to build affordable homes to meet local housing needs in rural areas.
Allium were approached in June 2017 to assist in updating their current asbestos records and management system.
Allium have a wealth of experience in the social housing sector and were contracted to in build a robust system for CRHA.
Key account managers from Allium were appointed to the contract. They met with Cornwall Rural and put together a schedule of requirements.
The project comprised of carrying out re-inspection surveys to a large number of their housing stock.
Re-inspection surveys were due to assess the condition of any asbestos containing materials that were previously identified in their historic management surveys. Asbestos based products can degenerate so need inspecting periodically, usually every 12 months.
The duration of the project was 4 months and included all the data being loaded onto our Alpha Tracker CRHA bespoke client portal for them to view at their leisure.
In addition to this we have also carried out management and refurbishment surveys to various houses within the association.
CRHA will be able to view when their re-inspections are due again in a years’ time from their asbestos register on their portal. Items due for re-inspection will be colour coded yellow, should any items become overdue it will show in red. Our Key Account Manager will liaise with CRHA to get these programmed in and any recommendations acted upon accordingly.
Allium are delighted to have been able to work with CRHA to build up their asbestos register and look forward to maintaining this in the coming years.
