As well as undertaking various projects internationally, Allium have this month begun a contract to carry out asbestos surveys, re-inspections and asbestos management plans for approximately 200 convenience stores across the UK.
We were initially approached earlier this year and produced a costed presentation outlining a proposal to assist our client with their asbestos related compliance. We agreed a specification and had to formulate a schedule of visits. We are now successfully carrying out our surveys in line with the timescales agreed.
The duty to manage asbestos in commercial premises requires our client to protect those who work in or use the spaces for any activities and our surveys will be an invaluable aid in this.
To avoid disruption to the shops usual working day our surveyors carry out the surveys whilst the shop is open. Our booking team liaise with the managers of the shops to ensure we gain access first thing when the shops are quietest.
Once we have carried out the surveys and the reports have been produced we upload the documents to the clients chosen portal. From there all parties involved will have access to the documents and can clearly identify the location of any asbestos and its condition. Should remediation be required we will then suggest the appropriate management action.
