Wessex Water Asbestos Surveys

In September 2017, Allium Environmental were successful in gaining a place onto the Wessex Water Framework for Asbestos Surveying and Inspection Services.

Part of the requirement of the framework was to undertake refurbishment and demolition surveys to various Wessex Water sites throughout the region.

An essential requirement was that all asbestos surveyors and contractors were to be accredited to ISO17020.

Wessex Water Services is the regional water and sewage treatment business serving an area of the south west of England, covering approximately 10,000 square kilometres supplying drinking water to circa 1.3 million customers and sewerage services to some 2.8 million customers. Wessex Water’s water distribution network includes 85 water sources, 66 water treatment centres, 300 service reservoirs and water towers, over 200 pumping stations and almost 11,935 kilometres of water main. Wessex Water’s sewerage system comprises 401 water recycling centres and bio-resources centres, around 2,100 pumping stations, and almost 34,900 kilometres of sewers.

Since the contract started we have successfully completed approximately 170 asbestos surveys.
