Since July 2019, Allium Environmental have been managing asbestos for Wishford Schools, who operate nine schools: Heywood Prep and Cricklade Manor Prep in Wiltshire; Hatherop Castle, Westonbirt Prep and Westonbirt School in Gloucestershire; St Edward’s Prep in Berkshire; and St Faith’s Prep, St David’s Prep and The Mead in Kent.
As part of our asbestos management service for Wishford, we hold quarterly meetings to review our findings throughout the entire estate. Using our Asbestos Management Software, AlphaTracker, we are able to quickly present the management team with a complete overview of their asbestos survey results, and they also have the ability to login to our system at any time, should they require any documentation or certificates for compliance reasons.
Last year, the government launched its asbestos management assurance process to take a deeper look into how schools are managing asbestos risk. It invited school leaders and responsible bodies to submit an assurance declaration about compliance with asbestos regulations.
Nearly 700 schools have been referred to the HSE after failing to satisfy the Department for Education (DfE) that they were managing asbestos in line with legal requirements, so we are delighted to be working with such a conscientious group of schools, as Wishford, in order to help them remain fully compliant.
Wishford’s key Allium contact is Our Regional Manager for the Bristol area, Jeremy Webb.
