Chris Pilkington has joined Allium recently as an Asbestos Consultant in our Yorkshire office.

Chris has worked exclusively in the asbestos industry for nearly 20 years. Through his career he has worked in UKAS accredited consultancies, initially for 8 years providing the site analytical services developing his skills to senior consultant level covering all disciplines. To broaden his knowledge and experience Chris worked for five years as Technical Manager with a national Licensed Asbestos Removal Contractor responsible for internal policy and procedures under the HSE asbestos licensing regime.

Appointment as Technical Director for asbestos by Capita enabled Chris to operate as client and dutyholder creating policy and procedures for a large global property portfolio. Within that time Chris worked with software providers to apply industry legislation to technological developments and create an online asbestos management system with associated app technology for data gathering.

Chris also experienced client-side responsibilities during his work with Marks & Spencer following their landmark prosecution. This role required the development of a technical auditing business on behalf of M&S to manage the logistics and quality of their asbestos supply chain, both consultancy and contractor streams.

Within the asbestos industry Chris also held senior roles acting as Managing Director for EDP following their acquisition of the IOM and for Eurosafe Plus.

Most recently Chris has been engaged by Westminster initially to deliver discreet packages of work for several departments. Identification of initial risk through audit has developed full time secondment reporting to the Head of Safety. Further investigation and analysis identified commercial causation for many operational issues and several reportable incidents.

We’re delighted to have Chris and his wealth of experience on board with Allium, and we’re looking forward to working together.
