I believe that most of us will be pleased to see the back of 2020 as it has proven to be the most challenging year I have ever encountered in business. With that said, I am delighted with how Allium have continued to operate throughout the crisis and this is testament to the great team here at Allium and our wonderful Clients who have supported us throughout the year.
We made the difficult decision to continue to trade through both lockdowns with the view that we would only furlough staff if we absolutely had too, which proved to be the correct decision, on reflection.
During the year we decided to diversify and undertake specialist cleaning of premises for COVID 19 where we supported NHS in the cleaning of wards and health centres. We also carried-out cleans to care homes and general office cleans which was hugely rewarding knowing we were supporting other businesses in keeping premises operational.
We also made the decision this year to open a new branch in Yorkshire and are delighted to welcome Craig Dennis to the team; we are looking forward to working with new clients in the North of England.
We were also thrilled to have been nominated and recognised as a business hero for donating PPE and RPE to primary care doctors and nurses to help protect them whilst undertaking vital visits to vulnerable parents.
We end the year with successfully gaining accreditation for air testing which has always been the natural and obvious addition to the service that we already provide.
May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy, healthy and relaxing Christmas holiday and look forward to a brighter, prosperous 2021.
With very best wishes,
Julian House
