Our staple workload often leads to our surveyors travelling the length and breadth of the UK to service our clients.

More recently though our surveyors have been found working in Abu Dhabi rather than Waltham Abbey, as Allium have been commissioned to undertake surveys on a number of ships and yachts in ports all over the world.

Planning and logistics is a key element to be considered when arranging these projects. These vessels are usually only docked for a short space of time and as time is money for merchant vessels stuck in port we have to act quickly and ensure we are there to undertake the survey within the allotted time.

The surveys that we have a carried out have ranged from management surveys to re-inspection surveys but we have also been doing IHM reports as mentioned in our story last month What is the Inventory of Hazardous Materials?

Working on these vessels can often be challenging; particular care and attention has to be paid to avoid damage to the opulent décor of the super yachts we have surveyed. Having worked on many vessels and ships before our surveyors are fully aware of the requirements and competence needed to undertake these surveys.

Our flexible, responsive service has ensured a raft (excuse the pun) of repeat orders from the marine sector.
