
As were all aware the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown of much of the UK economy from late March has had a huge impact on businesses and has inflicted a huge shock to the economy. The threat of the worst recession in living memory is obviously causing major concerns to every business.
It’s reassuring that the government is focusing its recovery plans on infrastructure investment, which will clearly support the construction industry and the wider economy also.
At Allium we felt the time was right to get back to some level of normality and from the beginning of July we have asked those working from home to return to work and abide by the safety measures we have implemented.
We are starting to see an increase in enquiries generally, with a notable increase in legionella enquiries. We believe this is due to the fact businesses are returning to work and ensuring their workplaces are safe.
We are also seeing a significant increase in IHM surveys which is understandable with the IHM deadline fast approaching. Ships visiting UK ports need to be compliant with EU legislation within 2020 deadline.
