Allium are over the moon to be part of Goonhilly Earth Station‘s incredible £9 million refit. The facility in Helston, Cornwall, is being refurbished in order to support the exploration of Lunar and Deep Space for institutions and private enterprise; including manned missions to Mars.
Allium Environmental surveyors were asked to carry-out an asbestos refurbishment survey at the Merlin antenna, one of the largest at the facility, within the oldest commercial satellite station in the world. Merlin, a 32m diameter, GHY-6 antenna, built in 1985, is famous for beaming the Live Aid concert around the world.
