When Allium launched in 2015 our mission and aim was to be an all-round consultancy dedicated to ‘Creating Safer Spaces’.

2018/19 has seen Allium expand into other Environmental disciplines and Create Safer Spaces by advising on not only Asbestos, but Lead in Paint, Legionella and Inventory of Hazardous Materials surveys aboard marine vessels.

As well as Lead in Paint and IHM, the latter part of 2018 saw us achieve ISO17025:2017 UKAS accreditation for testing for Asbestos in Bulk Materials.

Our asbestos testing laboratory, situated in our head office at Baldhu, Cornwall, will enable us to provide you (our clients) with a much speedier service for samples and reports, without reliance upon external analysis.

Lead Paint testing, a requirement under The Control of Lead at Work Regs (CLAW) 2002 places a duty on employers to prevent, or where this is not reasonably practicable to control employee exposure to lead.

Lead Paint can be found mainly on skirting boards, doors, stairs, banisters, window frames and pipes. We are now able to assist by surveying and testing for the presence of Lead in Paint.

Allium have a strong history of providing asbestos surveys and advice to the Marine Industry. Adding IHM surveys to our list of services supports our ambition to give that one stop shop approach for ship owners and operators across the globe.

The Inventory of Hazardous Materials is an essential tool for ensuring that potentially dangerous materials on board ship are kept in an environmentally sound condition throughout their life span. Any vessel over 500 GT will need to have an IHM Report.

We are now accredited under Lloyds Register to undertake asbestos surveys for IHM.
