As part of the continued growth of our UKAS accredited Asbestos Surveying Consultancy, we are seeking candidates to fill the role of Project Consultant within our Yorkshire Region – which also covers the Midlands.

The Key function of the Project Consultant is to deliver a combination of on-site and office-based work. The candidate will be carrying-out regular asbestos surveys as well as helping to manage some of the office duties, including; business development, project management and other admin work.

It is foreseen that such role may have natural progression into management as the business continues to grow and develop and as such, if you have a desire to progress within an exciting team this will be the perfect role.

  • Previous experience of working within an asbestos consultancy and knowledge and understanding of the Control of Asbestos Regulations is essential
  • Further ‘on the job’ training and support will be provided where necessary
  • As this role will be client facing it is imperative that you have a professional, polite and friendly manner
  • As the role supports a highly reactive team you will be proactive, reliable, adaptable and be able to re- prioritise with ease with a ‘can do’ attitude; team work is essential and your ability to be flexible and ‘get stuck in’ will allow you to thrive in this position
  • Excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills are essential along with excellent time management skills and following tasks through to completion
  • Being a quick learner, enthusiastic, dedicated and hardworking; being able to work on own initiative and as part of a team are crucial to this role
  • The role will predominantly involve site works, delivering a breadth of our services to a diverse range of clients in an equally diverse range of environments
  • Previous experience in domestic, commercial and industrial site works is essential
  • You must be proficient in working with MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) and have good IT skills
  • You must have experience of using mobile technology to capture accurate data when completing site works
  • You must be prepared to face the daily challenges of working in the Testing, Inspection and Consultancy environment

Qualifications

  • Must hold BOHS P402 or equivalent to undertake on-site asbestos surveys across a diverse breadth of sectors and environments
  • Must hold BOHS p403 & P404 and be proficient in undertaking asbestos analytical services across a diverse breadth of sectors and environments
  • Must have at least 3 years industry experience
  • Working knowledge of HSG: 248 The Analyst Guide
  • Working knowledge of HSG: 264 The Survey Guide
  • Understanding of Control of Asbestos Regulations and ACoP L143
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check
  • Strong work ethic, with the ability to work effectively either alone or in a team

Salary

  • £27,000 – £29,000

Annual Leave

  • 28 days including bank holidays, plus an additional day off on your birthday (or the next available date)
